About Dr. Carroll

Dr. Jeffrey J. Carroll is the Medical Director of Movement Orthopedics and a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. His practice centers on hip and knee replacement, including revision hip replacement for failed or worn implants, and he also treats shoulder conditions, fractures and other acute orthopedic injuries.

Dr. Carroll earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency through Michigan State University at McLaren Macomb Regional Medical Center, where he served as chief resident in his senior year. He is an Assistant Professor at Oakland University and the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine.

He has written articles on partial and total knee replacement and has spoken at Grosse Pointe Beaumont and St. John Hospital on knee, hip and shoulder surgery. Among his favorite procedures are hip, knee and shoulder replacement, which he has performed many times on an outpatient basis.

Dr. Carroll's path to orthopedics started on the Michigan State University track team, where his own injuries as a collegiate athlete introduced him to the field. He majored in biochemistry before medical school. Outside the office he is an avid golfer, hiker and skier.
